Outstanding Industrial Technologist - 2003

As Director of Promotional Logistics for General Mills, Donzel Leggett is accountable for the development and execution of innovative nation wide product promotional activities. In this position, he closely collaborates with Sales, Manufacturing and Logistics to insure efficient execution of General Mills' efforts to increase market share.

Donzel Leggett graduated from Purdue's Industrial Technology program in 1990 and he received his M.S. in Industrial Technology in 1992. He started his career in Quaker Oats' Cedar Rapids Plant as an industrial engineer, rapidly progressing to Department Leader in Cereal Processing. In 1996 he joined General Mills' West Chicago Plant as Department Head and subsequently was promoted to Plant Manager of the St. Charles Plant. This was followed by his promotion to "Big G" Manufacturing Manager at the Corporate Headquarters. In 2003 Mr. Leggett was appointed to his present corporate position.

Donzel Leggett's effective execution of his role in Promotional Logistics is extremely critical to help drive General Mills sales volume growth as it provides a direct link to the customer, generates beneficial logistical efficiency and ensures preferential point of sale display of promotional and core products. Additionally, Donzel Leggett provides General Mills' customer with the sense that the Company values and listens to the customer thereby generating a strong brand loyalty.
