Outstanding Industrial Technologist - 1997

Robert Loyd is the Senior Vice President for Cedarapids, Inc., a Division of Raytheon, and a 1973 Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology degree graduate of Iowa State University. He has full responsibility for all engineering and operations activity for the manufacturing facilities in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Glasgow, Missouri. Cedarapids, Inc. is a major manufacturer of heavy equipment associated with crushing and screening, hot mix paving, and material mixing.

For twenty years prior to becoming Senior Vice President of Cedarapids, Mr. Loyd was employed by the Rockwell International Graphic Division which manufacturers customized offset presses for domestic and international newspapers and commercial printers. Rockwell designated Mr. Loyd "Rockwell International Engineer of the Year" in 1986. He is also the recipient of the Iowa State University Distinguished Alumni Award.

In addition to the BSIT degree, Loyd has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (1979) and a Masters of Business Administration (1984) from Iowa State University. Robert Loyd resides in Iowa City with his wife Becky and children Bob, Brian, Brooke, and Brett.
