NAIT's Industry Division established an "Outstanding Industrial Technologist Award" to recognize those men and women who distinguish themselves by exemplary leadership and the application of Industrial Technology practices. Honorees are nominated by institutions of higher education affiliated with NAIT, and the nominees are selected by the Industry Division after a review of their credentials.

The honorees have all performed in increasingly responsible positions to a level of management where they, by their actions, can significantly impact the present and future performance of their company. The areas of endeavor open to industrial technologists are many and outstanding individuals will be found in small and large companies. When an honoree is an individual contributor, or one executing a given expertise, the award is based on outstanding performance of a nature commanding recognition by ones peers or by a national professional society.

NAIT is proud to recognize recipients of the "Outstanding Industrial Technologist Award." In honoring these individuals for their exemplary leadership, NAIT also honors all men and women who pursue careers in the many endeavors of Industrial Technology. NAIT is indebted to Mr. John W. Reese Jr., NAIT Industry Division President, 1997-1999, for his leadership in the establishment of this award.
