Murdock Smith, Jr. is the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for ESPA Corporation, a civil engineering and architecture firm. During his career, Smith has utilized an outstanding combination of engineering design knowledge and business management skills to materially benefit ESPA. As Chief Operating Officer, he is directly responsible for the future success of the corporation having full authority for the expenditure of corporate resources and their efficient utilization.

Mr. Smith graduated from the School of Technology at Texas Southern University in 1972. After graduation he served three years in the U.S. Army. He gained his initial civil engineering design experience as a Project Designer with Blom Engineering. He joined ESPA in 1982 where he was Project Engineer on numerous construction projects of increasing scope and responsibility resulting in his promotion to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Smith lives with his wife Yxonne (Collins) Smith in Houston, Texas with their children Murdock III, Monica, and Melanie.
